Amphibians and Reptiles of Britain and Ireland Taxon Expert Group

Amphibians and Reptiles of Britain and Ireland Taxon Expert Group (ARBITEG) was established in 2009 to help coordinate activities and share knowledge of herpetofauna conservation in the geographic area covered by Great Britain, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. The group aims to provide a service to national Biodiversity Action Plans and to help address policy and scientific issues. Approaches for taking these forward will vary between countries. The group has agreed Terms of Reference.

ARC provides the secretariat for this group Arbiteg@arc-trust.org .

Sub-groups

ARBITEG has agreed that it can form sub-groups: which may include a wider range of organisations than are represented through the main panel. A Data sub-group has been formed specifically to look at data and monitoring issues.
