The Gallery is divided into a number of subject headings set out below. Simply click on the heading or thumbnail to enter that part of the Gallery.

Note that Frogs and Toads are grouped according to their common name rather than their strict taxonomical status.
Frogs

Pictures of our two native frog species. There are also a number of aliens three of which collectively form the "Green Frog" complex.
Toads

We have two native species of toad. Another alien species has become naturalised in some parts of the country.

Newts

We have three native species of newt. There are also two aliens, which may be regarded as naturalised. Pictures of all of these will be added.
Lizards

Pictures of the three native species of lizard in the UK mainland and two naturalised aliens. The latter two are also native to Jersey in the Channel Islands.

Snakes

We have three native species of snake of which one is venomous although not dangerous. There is also one alien species which is naturalised in a couple of places. They can all be seen in this gallery
Chelonians

Our only naturally occurring Chelonians are a few sea turtles. There is also a very common alien species and occasional reports of a species which was once native to the UK.
