Our Snakes in the Heather Home Education on the Heath event takes place on Parley Common in Dorset; a heathland nature reserve which is home to all sorts of wonderful and unique species including reptiles like the smooth snake.  The event is free of charge as part of the Snakes in the Heather project.

We will meet at the Centre car park and then start by walking around the reserve talking about the wildlife that lives there, stopping to learn about the UK's native reptiles. Then, we will play a few heathland themed games, pause for some child led games and snack-time and then do another couple of activities before heading back for 12:30.

Activities will be adjusted if it is raining but not cancelled so please make sure everyone in your group is dressed in layered clothing, with sturdy shoes. Please bring any snacks and drinks you may want with you.

Places are limited to 30. Please book 1 ticket for each person attending, whether adult of child. Please note, this event is a repeat of the other Home Ed on the Heath events. Book using the button below.

There are a number of other great ways to get involved in the Snakes in the Heather project. If you would like to book education on behalf or a school or group you represent please click here for further details.

Snakes in the Heather is supported by a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant.
