Amphibian and Reptile Conservation (ARC) and Amphibian and Reptile Groups of UK (ARG UK), are delighted to announce the 2019 Herpetofauna Workers’ Meeting, which is to be held at the Best Western Plus Stoke on Trent Moat House on 9th-10th February 2019.

Running annually for over 29 years, this popular two-day event occupies the centre stage of the herpetological calendar. Once again, we offer a full and varied programme of presentations and workshops with plenty of opportunities to network. The meeting attracts a diverse audience representing: conservation organisations, ecological consultants, statutory bodies, land managers, academic institutions and students, and enthusiastic volunteers.

For the Herpetofauna Workers’ Meeting 2019 we are making some changes based on feedback from previous meetings. We hope you’ll like these changes. In the past we would run each workshop twice, but this year we’re running each only once, on the Saturday. We’ve selected a good range of topics so that whilst you can only select one, we think you’ll find that session useful. We’re also trying out a “Question and Answer” panel format on the Sunday. There will be a choice of two, one on any herp conservation issues, and one specifically on the new licensing regime for great crested newts.  For the social evening we’re having a break from the quiz and instead having a set from DJ Lizard Wizard (ARC’s own Peter Hill). We hope you’ll like these changes and we will as usual be seeking your feedback on what you liked (and what you didn’t), to feed in to planning for future meetings.

Please download the provisional programme for details of talks and workshops.
