Want to help protect one of Britain's rarest amphibians?

The Gems in the Dunes project will be holding training days for volunteers who are keen to get involved with monitoring and recording Sefton coast's natterjack toads. You have the option of taking part in the training on one of three days, either:

  • Thursday 4th April
  • Friday 5th April
  • Saturday 6th April

The training days will run in the evening from 5pm to 10pm and will cover an indoor theory session for the first half followed by an evening walk around the sand dunes to hopefully see the natterjack toads and hear their distinctive call.

We do ask that everyone attending the training would be willing to commit to taking part in monitoring the natterjack toads throughout the coming spring/summer. This would be regular weekly visits in small groups with other volunteers.

Last year we held two training sessions which were both fully booked so please book early to avoid missing out!

If you would like to get involved or would like more information, please get in touch on 01704 571 575, email [email protected] or head to the Gems in the Dunes Facebook Group.
