Gems in the Dunes are looking forward to a series of exciting online art workshops over the coming weeks, taking a close look at some of the animals that call the dunes home. Using images of the different creatures to inspire us we’ll capture their shape, texture and features through painting and drawing. Artist Sam Harris-Wright, from OUNCE [artwork & apparel] will guide us through the sessions, focussing on a different technique at each. Please note, only book onto one session as places are limited and we wish to engage with as wide an audience as possible, thank you.

 Saturday 27th March - 10-11.30am

A Black and White Coast – Simply using ink at this session to create black and white images we’ll see how different creatures lend themselves to different techniques.

Wednesday 7th April - 2-3.30pm

A Colourful Coast – Watercolours will enable us to capture some of the vibrant colours displayed by animals on the dunes.

Wednesday 14th April - 7-8.30pm.

Shades of the Coast – Use charcoal and graphite to create tones and textures characteristic of the creatures of the sand dunes.

Each small group session will take place on Zoom, once signed up you will be sent a link. We have a limited number of places available, and would like to engage with as many people as possible, so please only book for one of the sessions. You will also be provided with details of the materials you will require, some of which we will be able to supply.
