In October 2015 ARC’s staff and Trustees were treated to a day at London Zoo as a thank you for their hard work and to celebrate our twenty five years of conserving amphibian and reptiles.

We started the day with two fascinating talks by Ben Tapley of the Zoological Society of London about their work with Chinese Giant Salamanders and Mountain Chicken Frogs. ARC’s Chairman John Webster then regaled us all with tales of how it all started and gave special thanks to some our longest serving staff and supporters. We finished the morning with an inspiring presentation from ARC’s CEO Tony Gent highlighting some of our great achievements and speaking about what we have planned for the future.

After a lovely buffet lunch and wonderful amphibian and reptile themed cake, we were taken on a guided tour of the zoo’s fantastic reptile house (including a sneak peek behind the scenes!). The rest of the afternoon was spent enjoying the zoo and socialising with other staff and Trustees.

Everyone really enjoyed the day, catching up with colleagues from other parts of the UK and discussing what the next twenty five years might hold for Amphibian and Reptile Conservation.
