ARC unlicenced and untrained survey volunteer registration form

Please complete this form if you will be accompanying an ARC trained and licenced reptile and/or amphibian surveyor on a survey permitted by ARC - you have not received an ARC protected species survey accreditation and/or undertaken training. This is to ensure that we can cover you under ARC’s insurance and so we can monitor numbers of people carrying out surveys for ARC.

You are covered for activities relating to sand lizard and smooth snake, as protected species, under the terms of the ARC Organisational Survey Accreditation provided to the trained ARC reptile and/or amphibian surveyor that you accompany. You must not ‘lone work’ and the trained ARC surveyor must be with you at all times during a survey.

Please contact ARC if you are under the age of 18 or you are completing this form on behalf of a person under the age of 18.

To become an ARC volunteer, you must check the box below to allow us to contact you by email, post, phone and text. If you do not wish to select this option, you will be unable to submit this form and formally register as a volunteer (this may affect your eligibility to receive an ARC protected species survey accreditation and carry out reptile/amphibian surveys for ARC). Please contact ARC if you require further information.

We store your personal information in order to i) contact you about opportunities to volunteer for ARC, ii) maintain contact with you regarding the volunteer work you undertake, iii) cover you under our volunteer insurance, iv) ensure we have a contact in case of emergency, v) issue you with an ARC protected species survey accreditation (if required), vi) allocate you with a survey site (if required).

We would also like to tell you about our projects, fundraising appeals and other conservation work, if you tell us that you are happy for us to do so (below).

Only complete this form if you are an untrained and unlicensed volunteer carrying out surveys with an ARC trained reptile and/or amphibian surveyor who holds a European Protected Species (EPS) licence. You must undertake appropriate reptile survey training and hold an EPS licence to undertake formal reptile surveys unsupervised. Please contact ARC if you require further information.

If you wish to withdraw your consent at any time, or would like to let us know that your contact details have changed, you can do so at any time. For details please see our Privacy Policy here:
