Art and creative writing competition 2016 - 2017

Do you enjoy drawing, painting or writing? Are you a young person living in Scotland? If so, you may be eligible to enter a new wildlife art and writing competition. Entry is free and pupils in classes P4 to S6 (or home-schooled equivalent) from now until the summer of 2017 are eligible to enter. Winning entries will be used to help illustrate a new book called "Amazing animals, brilliant science!" which will show how DNA technology is being used to help protect Scottish wildlife. A total of 24 excellent prizes (plus certificates) will be awarded across four categories (P4-5, P6-7, S1-3 and S4-6). Winners will be invited to an award ceremony at Edinburgh Zoo in October 2017, hosted by the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland. The competition is being funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, Scottish Natural Heritage and the Amphibian and Reptile Conservation (ARC) Trust.
