This pool frog release is part of the landscape scale project Breaking New Ground which is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF). Now in it's second year ARC are very happy to welcome back a few more pool frogs to Thompson Common, Norfolk.

You can read more about the project in our leaflet 'Re-introducing the northern pool frog to NWT Thompson Common, Norfolk' and new item about the first realease: 'England’s rarest frog returns to Norfolk'

IoZs veterinarians Jenny Jaffe and Helle Hydeskov having fun measuring and weighing pool frog tadpoles at Thompson Common. John Buckley (ARC) taking a keen interest in the tadpoles weight and length
After a bit of a walk the tadpoles were left to acclimatise for roughly ten minutes before they were released into their new home. IoZ's Jenny Jaffe, Helle Hydeskov and John Buckley (ARC) all looking happy after a successful release.

Many thanks to Norfolk Wildlife Trust and The Institute of Zoology (IoZ).
